Well, I'd have to say that pick up lines can be a bit lame and a tad irritating at times. Personally, I would prefer a nice "hello" and a friendly conversation. I can't stand a person who flirts constantly, or at all for that matter. It's much prefered if a guy would just act like them self, not try to wow me with a fancy phrase.
And on the topic of how to impress me, I would have to say being nice. It seems a little plain and stupid, but trust me, it is not common sense. I can't stand people who act rude to try and be funny or cool. Just being nice and yourself would impress me enough, show me that your not just another guy who plays it by the book and all the clique rules.

No I don't like pick up lines. Being yourself, I like the best. Telling the truth is really important. I do not like it when a guy makes up a story to impress me. That is a real turn off.

I HATE pick up lines with a passion! I am impressed with genuine attraction and genuine feelings. A guy just relaxes and lets the real him show that impresses me. A man not afraid and proud of who he is inside and out.

I hate pick up lines, they are so corny...if a guy wants to get with me a inner self confidence would impress me because I want a man who is not afraid to come up and talk to me, but that's only if I have talked to u before or seen u around...if u r a complete stranger it would probably freak me out

Pick up lines are usually good for a laugh, but if your'e looking to impress someone...just be yourself! I know it sounds corny, but it works. Pick up lines and showing off just makes you seem desperate, a player or like your'e trying too hard. It's better just to be yourself, although a sense of humor helps!

I hate pickup lines- they're for dumbasses, and anybody who actually falls for them is just sad & pathetic. I like guys who make casual conversation with light humor, then subtly get around to asking me out. That's how you know if you've got a good one. Guys who just spit game and/or ask for your number within the first few seconds of knowing you are only after the booty.

Picking up lines joking around are great, pick up lines used to actually try and woo a girl are sad.
