I like names for girls that when you look at them, you can definately tell it belongs to a girl/female. It should look beautiful and sound beautifully.
I don't care much for names that can be either gender (Jordan, Cameron, Ryan)
I get annoyed by names with spellings that showed that the parents were trying too hard to be original. Also names that try to be cutsie. Poor child has to deal all of her life with correcting people on the spelling of her name (Sharyn, Catheron, Mackenzie)
The same applies for boys/males. You should be able to look at the name and tell the sex.
Some of my favorite girl's names: Elizabeth, Eleanor, Emily, Jacqueline, Cassandra, Alexandria

If I had a daughter instead of a son, I would have named her Makayla Lynn. I like that name. Of course, my name, Teresa, is a pretty good name too.

Emily. It's been on the top ten names list for over 20 years now. It's simple, but nice. My sister's name is Emily!
