Event Horizon (Lawrence Fishburne, Sam Neil) - Trust me on this one, but I warned you.
Believe it or not, I thought the grudge was pretty scary too, but only if you watch it alone at night (of course the original Japanese version is much better). I couldn't sleep well for a week
Maybe not the scariest series out there, but the "Phantasm" series is classic; check that out.
Jeepers Creepers and Wolf Creek are 2 good newer flicks
Dawn of the dead is great too, both new and old.....completely different movies in my opinion.

the orginal version of the excorist..man i was scared to go to sleep and stuff and it is really scary and after i watched it i was shaking and couldnt stop...well i hope u watch it and have fun watching it lol
