I don't know if it's the same in every city, but here, every kid on every little league softball, baseball, etc team gets a trophy, even if their team came in last place. Do you agree or disagree with the "every kid gets a trophy" mentality? Please give your arguements. Thanks!

No, I don't think every child should receive an award. It's okay to teach children that life is not always fair...not everyone deserves an award just for showing up. If you excel, THEN you will be rewarded. That's the way life is. On a job, not everyone gets a raise - only those who deserve it. It's just the way it is. If the kids are really broken up agut it, then they should use the off season to get better and win an award next time.
Just my $0.02.

No!!! Their ruining sports and our kids!! When I was in Little league and pop Warner you only got to play if you were good the coach would field the best team that he could!! That gave the kids who didn't play the incentive to work hard and get better, so you would get to play!!! Now they play everyone, the kids have the feeling "why should I get better I'll get to play any way".

no, kids have to learn to be better. If they get a trophy for not winnig they will not give it thier all the next time.

I believe so, because participating and trying your best are just as, if not more important than winning, and kids need to grow up knowing that.

Uhhhh noooo. A trophy is meaningless unless it's earned and it's totally unfair to those who did earn it to give it to those who didn't.
