You should take him to the pediatrician just to make sure he is OK.

Where did you have the car seat? How far was the drop? What part of the body hit first? How hard was the fall?

If you are so worried, you should not be online asking for assistance. Calling the doctors office is a good thing, or taking the baby to a clinic or ER is another great option.

I cannot BELIEVE you are posting this question on Yahoo Answers instead of going to the doctor! You can't be that worried or you would be at casualty! My son was dropped at the age of 12 weeks. His skull was fractured but luckily no lasting harm done because the skull bones had not yet fused together so his brain was able to expand to accommodate any bruising. He spent a week in hospital (he was signed off by the neurosurgeon after 2 days but had to spend the rest of the time there because of a bug he caught from the hospital! - but that's another story.........) He's a strapping 13-year-old now!

Girl dont worry, im sure every parent that has posted has done the same. And yes this has happend to me also, not once but twice, dont make yourself feel bad about it, its okay.
My 4 month old fell out of his carseat when I tried picking him up, and he cried for a while and seemed perfectly fine. I never took him to the Doctor or anything but when we go for his 4 month shots, I am definetely going to point it out.
This was an accident that you wish you could take back but you cant, dont let these ignorant people bring you down. Im sure you a wonderful mommy. Congrats on the baby.

Even if he seems fine, you might want to have him checked by the doctor. Don't feel bad.....this happens to everyone at one time or another. But you will feel much better once the doctor checks him over and you know for sure that he's okay!

Depends on how far he was dropped and what part of his body hit first. A newborn's bones are very pliable and soft, but it doesn't take much for the brain to be damaged inside the skull. I would suggest you take the baby the ER or to the doctor to be safe.

well you need to give more details... from how far up? What kind of surface did he fall on? What part of his body hit first-his head?

Didnt you take him to the ER just to make sure he was fine, since he is so young????Theyll do cat scans and stuff and let you know hes ok internally. That may help with peace of mind.

you need to take him to hospital to be checked out, dont worry about social services becoming involved if it was a one off accident, accidents happen, you need to make sure there is not any internal bleeding iam sure you would know tho he would be drowsy and proberly come up with red bruises so just go and get him checked out good luck
