I got into this debate with my psychology teacher last year. He couldn't believe it because I'm usually pretty conservative. He brought it up to his new class this year and some of them and he still couldn't seem to get the fact that I thought it should be lower. Yes, I said I think it should be lower. I'm a girl and I don't like when girls are viewed as toys or objects. I despise it. However, some girls just put themselves out there and there's nothing you can do. I actually made my argument for the sake of men who just happen to like a younger girl and the girl constantly puts herself out there for him. Granted, there are exceptions, so don't think I'm excusing everything. I'm not. Still, it's just that if a girl who is going to flaunt herself, so be it. I know many of you will think I'm crazy. I don't mind.

By the way, I told my teacher age of consent should be 10. (You should see how some of the 5th graders I know act and talk.)

A ten year old girl... Even one who is, as you say, "flaunting it"... has no concept of the physical and emotional repercussions of sex.

There really are two major flaws in your thinking:
1. The idea that because a girl is flirtatious or wearing sexy clothing it's an open invitation for a man.

2. The idea that a ten year old CHILD has the ability to make a decision about sex.

These are HARMFUL ideas.

That entire element approximately men being the oppressors and ladies folk being the victims is the only purpose i will have confidence of. If there are feminists intentionally overlaying up infant abuse of any type, then they could't be seen women folk or perhaps human beings. it somewhat is unhappy that anybody's ideology could override their sense of empathy for an abused infant.

No matter how grown-up they act or pretend to be, they are still children. The age of consent should be no lower than 17.

You know better than I do where the average 10 year old is these days. But I would say most definitely 14 but I am judging from when I was a younger person.

So a grown man shuold be allowed to have sex with a 12 year old, just because she "put herself out there?"

She is a child, and doesn't know better. He is an adult, and is expectde to know better.

On the other hand, I don't think it is the same with older woman and younger males. If a 30 year old woman wants a 14 year old boy , good for him!

18 and not a day lower. It take maturity to make decisions and that takes time.
