My job does not offer compensation assistance while on Maternity Leave. Does anyone know of any type of assistance available for this in Texas?

The only thing I would suggest is that you try to take advantage of some of the assistance that the goverment offers. I am pretty sure that you can get some type of assistance such as TANIF, EBT, and WIC, because in reality you're really not going to be working so I know that they will help you. I think that you should call the Texas Department Of Human Services (Client Hotline: 1-800-252-8263 ). It wont hurt to ask...

No, short term disability insurance prior to pregnancy is the only thing i know. There is no requirement to take Maternity Leave and the government does not provide assistance to do so.

I just quickly glanced online but I didn't see anything. That's not to say that there isn't some kind of help. But I would start setting aside any money that you can, and use any pto and/or vacation time. Unfortunately you may only have a short time with the baby if you don't have enough paid time off. Maybe you can apply for emergency medicaid.
