I'm 7 mos. pregnant w/ a boy and we have a for sure first name Darius but we are at a stand still when it comes to the middle name! The last name will be Knight.

Well being a lover of geography myself (and hopefully a high school teacher of it in the future), i ADORE the baby boy name that i saw on a movie on tv, then looked it up - River! (trust me its real boys name!) and i guess for me, its well suited lol! and i also like Rio - which means river in Spanish. Rivers are an absolutely gorgeous natural part of our world, so i think that either River or Rio would be a beautiful name for a baby boy lol! Both exellent ideas for middle names.. or even first names!

I think it's good to pick a more common name for the middle name, since Darius is uncommon (but I like it) because then your son can go by his middle name if he ever wants to (I know so many people who have done this).
However, it would be nice to balance the three-syllable Dar-i-us with a shorter middle name, like Lee (someone already said), Clark, etc.

If his first name is Darius, and the last name is Knight, having John as his middle name would kind of have a cool ring to it, well, I think anyway.

I think Darius is a beautiful name. In ancient Persia there was once a great king Darius, so the name and your surname is perfect! I would go for the middle name Amir, which means 'king' in Arabic to round it off. A very royal sounding child :D
another nice middle name i like is Joseph.
