Since your modem only has a USB connection you can share the internet connection from the main computer to the router if you want to use another computer wirelessly.

On your main computer plug the modem into the USB port and connect a ethernet cable from the main computers ethernet port and the routers ethernet port.

Then on the main computer you need to enable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).

Then you can connect your other computer to the router using ethernet cable or wirelessly and thats it.

You need to buy a Netgear Network card and install it in your computer. Try to find one that works with wireless routers but you can also just buy a regular one. Then you can plug in an ethernet cable from your PC to the router because most wireless routers work with cables too.

We used to use a Sagem F@st modem, then we got a Speedtouch router, to get a home network going. This router was used INSTEAD of the modem, not as well as.

If you are on dsl phone connection you need a router/modem. If this is a cable connection you need a different modem with lan, and a straight router (no modem). If you use internet connection sharing the router is no use to you at all.
