Things like this are great , they can wear them to sleep or out for a stroll in the summer months. I would by 5 pairs on one-piece short sleeve outfits and 5 pairs of long sleeve ones in each size. Old navy also has cute sweatpants...

These are so easy to throw over a onesie and go out.
Good Luck!

buy about 10 onsies (they even have cute ones that are little outfits) Most the time they are in sleepers or onsies because they spit up so much and arent really comfortable in other clothes till they start rolling around and crawling. As far as outfits to take the baby places I would only get like 6-7 newborn 0-3 month outfits and by the time they are in 3-6 month clothes get maybe 10-15, 6-9 months you'll need a lot of. and from there on you will need a lot.

You definitely should buy more 3-6 month outfits than newborn. Both of my girls weighed over 8 pounds at birth and they had outgrown their newborn and 0-3 month clothes within 6 weeks. My daughter was also born in early August and was in her 3-6 month clothes by October if that gives you any idea of what sizes to buy for what seasons. Your baby will be in 3-6 month clothes (about 12-18 pounds) before you know it and you will get a lot more use out of this size. Buy a few cute newborn outfits and a pack of onesies for the summer; but don't spend too much money on them because your baby may only get to wear them a few times! Congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy!!

Everyone kept telling me to buy 3-6 month outfits. I was a first time mother and didn't know any better. Only a few people (maybe 3) gave me 0-3 month old clothes. I was SO thankful for these clothes. My son was 7 lb 1 oz and the 0-3 month clothes fit. I would suggest you buy some 0-3 months clothes as well.
I would have at least 10 outfits for your baby. Your house will be swarming with people. They don't expect you to have outfits on all the time. But in case you go somewhere special (i.e. church, family BBQ, baby party, etc) it is nice to have an outfit for baby. I always kept 2 outfits in the diaper bag for those "just in case" scenarios.

some of it depends on how often you want ot do laundry and how much money you want ot spend on clothes. babies grow fast and they only wear the smallest sizes for a few months. also for the first few months, they don't really need any "real clothes," -- just onezies, and those sleeping gowns with the drawstrings at the bottom. newborns usually should be kept lightly clothed even if it's real hot. also some babies grow a lot faster than others and some start out nearly needing the 3 month size as soon as they're born. others are tiny. you may find that you are changing the baby's clothes (whatever they are wearing, that is) several times a day though so you should count on that. their clothes can get pooped on, peed on, spit up on, not to mention just the usual -- all in a single day.

My daughter was born actually right around that time last year. What I did was bought one special newborn outfit and 3--5packs of onesies in newborn size, plus 6 pairs of pajamas. Depending on how big your baby is he or she won't be in the newborn stuff long or possibly not at all. My daughter was 6lbs and she was in newborn clothes for only 6wks. I bought more 0-3 and 3-6 mo clothes. Whatever you choose just keep in mind they get dirty a lot. On a typical day my daughter wears 2-6 different outfits and you will want to have enough on hand so you don't have to do laundry every day.
Good Luck and enjoy your baby they grow so so fast.

I would suggest buying those onesies. They are perfect for warmer weather. There are a lot more out there than just the plain old white ones now. Don't go overboard with clothes though because you will find that the baby will outgrow them before they are all used. It's easier to buy as you need than to buy a whole lot at one time. Buy enough that you will think will last about a week or so. Some tees, onesies, gowns, socks, and those receiving blankets as you will find many uses for them. You could also buy a couple of "nicer" outfits, but nothing too complicated or "frillie"....

how sweet is this question!!! your baby will be inside with you for at least the first 2mos. maybe longer. i would make sure to have a 6pack of onsies, maybe some tank tops, and side snap t-shirts. other than that, pjs are going to be pretty much the baby's wardrobe.
don't be nervous, you could always buy more after the baby arrives. also, they grow so fast, you don't want too many in any size. get a few newborn, and a few 3-6. but no worries, if you run out of clothes, do the laundry until you can buy new ones.
God bless you and your new little one

In the summer months my babies were in onesies with a light blanket more than anything else. I had about 3 outfits that I had for when we went out and about, but they really didn't need more than that. They just grow so fast.. Interestingly enough my kids fit better in the Premmie clothes when they were newborn than the 0-3 mo. stuff and they were both average size. You will probably want five 3-6 month outfits. But honestly onsies and jammies were what my babies spent most of their time in when they were new.

not more than 2 or 3, and don't take the tags off. So you can take them back. You never know how big those rascals are actually going to be or fast they may grow. And you'll notice that sizes vary greatly from one brand to another.
My girl only wore one of her NB outfits, and it was really two short for her long body. She stayed in 3-6 months up until this past weekend when she turned 3 months and she been wearing most 6-9 months since she was born. And sometimes fits into 12 months and sometimes 12 months swallow her whole.

I wouldn't buy more than 2 or 3 newborn OR 3-6 month outfits. In August, you'll want to have plenty of onsies for the baby. They're really the easiest and most comfy for the baby plus they come in some really cute patterns now. You'll want to have several of each size of those.
