The only way that this will happen is if you get Habitat for Humanity to build the house. That means they will put you only in the "neighborhood" and limit size to under 1200 square feet. This will be a typical 3 bedroom 1 bath tract house. It is an exceptional deal if you can get a lot on the edge of the bad neighborhood where you can make resale value off the better homes across the street. I spent 41 thousand buying a condemned home on the edge of a rehabbing area and remodeled and in 8 years it is now worth 179 thousand. I spent 20 thousand completely redoing it inside and out but I can do building, finish carpentry, electrical wiring, plumbing, and heating and air conditioning myself. I had a good dad who taught me the stuff I would need to know later in life. So - you can get into a habitat house for about 70 to 80 thousand. There are two on my street.
