Yes, yes it can. I know because it's just happened to me 10 mins ago! My fire alarm went off so I jumped up and began running around looking for smoke but found nothing other than a freshly produced pile of dog poo right under the alarm. I have a large Malamute with a dickie tummy and we often have problems with her smelly behind but this has taken it to another level lol

My children used to always say that they knew when their dad was cooking because the smoke alarm would always go off and they knew the meal was ready. I have never had it happen to me and have since bought my husband out side cooking implements. He cooks outside and I cook inside....

When I moved into this apartment there was one that went off all of the time. I told the maintenance guy about it several times. I finally had to take a ball bat to it!!! Now it works fine!!

No. It USED to mean that my kid had just taken a shower, steamed up the bathroom, then opened the door. And, one time it meant that he had set his bathroom ON FIRE (thank God we had fire extinguishers on hand).
