Good point, that! Our little boys will have little in the way of role models if the trends carries on the way it seems now. This applies to all jobs that involve any sort of closeness to children, too, you know, school-bus driver included... Madness. Have a good weekend, Chuckler! God bless

I havn't noticed anything of the sort! In fact, I see more men in the teaching profession and in the position of classroom aids than ever before. I also see female janitors more often now. So what gives? Is this conjecture on your part or stats from somewhere other than where I live?
I just think that the security checks need constant upgrading and the ongoing professional upgrading of staff really are what matters not gender!
I believe that again, information and training of people is what counts. Everyone taking responsability.
Kids need yearly reinforcement through school curiculum and programing about pediphiles and abuse of all sorts. That is the way it needs to be and I am a firm believer in good information for kids, families and professionals!
Pedophilia is a condition that needs to be irradicated some how. Awareness is a beginning. People should fear it and do something to push research and programs to prevent it!
Advice to 'MEN'...don't go by what you 'think' people are thinking. Do your research! If you are good at your profession it shines! Besides, there are female offenders remember!?Not as many but they are still out there. Do...your...research!
So what if a woman like me say...gives you a second glance...hey...maybe they think your attractive..or maybe its a learning curve for them, gee isn't that terrible...a learning curve.... I might take a second look to check out your 'vibe' then go...WOW...awsome, isn't that cooool! I've done it, so there! Big deal! It was OOOOOOKKKKKKKK! xox
Covering up your child by the way isn't going to turn off a real paedophile! Mom do your research before you bag your child again. At least then you will get a better idea of the nature of the beast. I have kids, I take precautions too.
Peace from a mother!

I completely agree that there is a disparity between male/female primary school teachers. Whether this is due to the concerns you raise?.....hmmmmm.....I'd say probably not. I think there is still a vast difference between the careers that females and males consider, certainly at school. Whether this is just a natural inclination or a failure of careers education in schools is open to debate. I suppose one possible ramification of this though is that it does make it difficult for a young female or male trying to cross the gender gap. In my experience males are far less likely to consider choosing a non-gender-stereotypical career than females, so maybe this leads to people unfairly questioning men's motives for wanting to work with young children? I don't know, although Nealo D's answer above is interesting.
There is plenty of evidence that the education is failing males and the crucial point is often at primary school. Boys often start to fall behind at a very early stage in their educational careers so that by the time they get to secondary level they are already disaffected and often disengaged from the educational system. A lack of gender balance amongst teachers at primary level is only going to reinforce this.

No I can't say I have noticed this. I work at a Primary school and there is two third ratio and at my sons secondary school the staff are roughly 50/50 male and female split. Men as a rule don't have patience with small children. It is only natural that women nurture small children and men get more work satisfaction from teaching children in higher education. It is a male competitive things.

truly the different regrettably because of the fact you're saying sin all you decide on and then ask forgiveness so which you're able to do all of it returned! learn exhibits that the clarification people war with emotion to locate equitable strategies is pinpointed the area of the strategies called the insular cortex, or insula, that's additionally the seat of emotional reactions. the actuality that the strategies has this type of physically powerful reaction to unfairness exhibits that sensing unfairness is a trouble-free developed potential. The emotional reaction to unfairness pushes human beings from severe inequity and drives them to be truthful. This fact exhibits our trouble-free impulse to be truthful isn't a complicated element that we study. It as a result completely illustrates that each and anybody people have morals controlled by utilising the strategies and that Christians are completely incorrect to objective and declare morals as their own!!!! yet Christians got here upon a manner around it! government statistics practice that Christians are massively over represented in prisons for sexual, violent and fraudulent crime on the same time as 365 days on 365 days government figures practice atheists make up basically 2% of the detention center inhabitants! The Catholic Church is paying tens of millions in reimbursement for the intercourse/paedophile crimes of their priests on my own! Christians are massively over represented interior the divorce courts! Christians invented the belief of sin and then the belief you should sin, ask forgiveness, get pardoned and start up off with a sparkling sheet! So no marvel that they are so expert at that's it? I do agree Chuckler, a lot of Stigma sorrounds this whole Paedophilic-witch-hunt Vs men in jobs some might attach to woman or in an industry dominated by woman.
I do agree that the criminals should be handled in the right way, but when we have public drownings and mass witch hunts, thats not upholding justice, thats called paranoia

I agree with Doudou. I think it may also be a good idea to stringently do background checks on the professionals who come into contact with children to establish whether they have relatives who have such tendencies and subsequently their findings made public to inform parents who may or may not pose a risk to their child.
A simple note to the N.U.T. or similar bodies would set the ball rolling if you have suspicions.
Maybe we should also frown on individuals who find it quirky to parade naked in front of their own little boys, I would class that as Paedophilia too, exhibitionism in front of minors. Where do you draw the line?
It seems there are those that get caught, hold there hands up and for the rest of their life imprison themselves.... then there are those who blatantly flaunt the law and atone for their sins by going to confessional on a sunday morning as if that makes everything alright.
I believe it's important for little boys AND little girls to have role models to look up to, though with the numbers of one parent families these days, how does a child manage to pay respect to either gender, bearing in mind women can be paedophiles too. Those without sin cast the first stone.
Have a lovely weekend dear.

By severely punishing the low life paedophiles when there are caught. The lack of a male role model within primary schools is only an issue with single chavy council estate mothers.

If a man has nothing to hide he won't mind the police checks, and they are absolutely necessary, one can't be too careful.
When a parent sends their child to school, they have the right to know that child is safe. Paedophiles do seek positions working with children. It is only recent years that churches have started checks on those who work with children. I remember reading the guidelines myself. I am all for stringent checks. x x x

I don't think men are scared away because of being thought of as a pedophile...the pay is usually just too low in those jobs.
Edit: The pay is low IN GENERAL in the UNITED STATES compared to other jobs they could be doing.

I am not sure you can change it: it is a sign of times.
Britain has gone from a freedom country to a despotic, policy state inducing fear of everything in everybody, and everyone is affraid of getting sued for anything, much like america.
Jail all the do-gooders and this may change. (Well, half the country in jail??)
For me, I left the country forever, totally disgusted.
