Around which week will the doctor start checking the cervix?

im 37 weeks now and they havent did an internal exam and people are telling me they should have started that around 35 weeks

My doc checked me at 34 weeks and I had to come in twice a week when I was dialated. Ask him to check you. Thats what they get paid for

I'm pretty sure they start checking at 36 weeks and once a week from there on out. Unless you tell them u having been having contractions and are concerned they will most likely check you if you bring this to there direct attention. Hope this helps!

my midwife said unless they have a reason they won't start checking till around 37 weeks. just ask your doc, thats the best place for an answer.

I had my first check at 37 weeks, but that is because I specifically asked. She said that, otherwise, they don't routinely check anymore. So, just ask.

35-36 weeks.

I would ask why they havent checked by 37.

I have heard just recently from 2 different women that their doctors/midwives didn't check anymore unless the mother asks to be.

nope....tides are changing

unless you have a good valid reason to be checked internally they won't be checking you

and really....internal exams don't tell much.....you doctor/midwife could say you are dilated to a 3 and you could stay that way for a couple more weeks

i am going 38 weeks and IMPATIENT as hell but no internal yet.....no reason for it really

all doctors are different my doc didnt start checking til i was 37 weeks.. so it just depends on the doc. if you really want to know ask your doc if he or she will check..

I have had four kids and my doctor never did check me until I was in labor. I suppose different doctors do things differently. I never was overdue.

i asked mine at 34 weeks because i'd had a lot of preterm labor. just ask and see if they will. they've never seen surprised but i know some dont' like to do it too early.
