I was in Europe a few months ago and the 'general hatred towards the US' is a myth. The media outlets abroad hate us, but then again, so do the ones here.

Our government is hated worldwide. Our people are loved worldwide.
The reasons are simple.
The people, for the most part, are great. While we have a fix it attitude and sometimes consumed with Ugly Americanism, nevertheless, the people are respected and treated with kindness. There are exceptions, but all in all it's true. We're a pretty accepting bunch, easy going for the most part, relaxed and funny. We're really considered the life of the party.
The government on the other hand, especially under Bush is roundly hated and disrespected. The reasons are obvious. Two wars, one under dubious reasons and the other under a pack full of lies, deceit, flimsy intelligence and wishful thinking.
Our government gets our noses in area's that we have no business being in, pointing out flaws in theirs while ignoring our own. The comments are often that we need to clean up our own house before we make comments or demands on others.

The "general hatred" you speak of is not so general as the media and the democrats would have you believe. As evidence of what I say, you watch, once a democrat is again in the White House, that "general hatred," will turn to love. Or so we will be informed by the media and the democrats.

the only countries that hate the U.S. contrary to the media, are countries, that are liberals, such as france, germany, spain, and so on,and those that are communist,or dictatorships, such as venezuela,or muslim, the rest of the world does not have a problem with the U.S.,the problem is liberal news media only report on those that hate the U.S.,never on those countries that count the U.S. as a valuable Friend.

Well, Japan became a close ally - after we dropped the atomic bomb on them. Twice.
I'm thinking we should model our foreign policy on that success.

Why should we care whether the rest of world likes us or not? If they're are friends, do business with them. If they're neutral, ignore them. If they're are enemies, bomb them into the stone age then ignore them. Occupation is dangerous and expensive and should not be bothered with. We absolutely need to close our borders and completely stop illegal immigration.

Stop the wars. That is it. And maybe not just Mr. Bush, but also Mr. Blair too, can spend their money on saving the people in Sudan who are vistims of genocide, 4 MILLION PEOPLE EFFECTED AND GOING UP!! ( THATS NEARLY THE SAME AS THE JEWS MURDERED IN THE HOLOCAUST!! ) , instead of using the money to buy weapons of hatred to kill people in the Middle East and steal their oil.
