Are they too lazy, or did they just hire our scientists?

Judging by your avatar and question , I`d say you`re an exceptionally bright scholar , probably in the genius category .
Even though the average person isn`t intelligent enough to understand the reason , I`m sure you will .

Martian scientists have been looking for water on Mars for decades ............. to no avail . Oh sure , they`ve found a drop or two here and there , but nothing in any quantity to guarantee the survival of the Martian race .

What they`ve done is threaten the Earth`s political leaders and scientists . Either we find water for them , or they attack and annihilate our planet ! This has been a closely guarded secret , so as not to panic Earth`s population .

Since then , our brightest scientists have been engaged in a frantic water-finding mission on Mars , although , as yet , they`ve found nothing . The Martians have given us till the end of next month to find them a water supply ................ or else !!

The general consensus in the scientific community is that we`re doomed ! Please .............. keep this information to yourself lest there be worldwide pandemonium , although I suppose it would be alright to tell your family and closest friends .

I'm sure it has something to do with the Martian scientists being about as competent at finding water on their own planet as our scientists are at finding a cure for any disease since the bubonic plauge. The odds are just in their favor.

The politics of/against religion is highly energizing for Martian water searches (similar to *manmade* global cooling .. er, warming searches) because it allocates the research funds which motivate scientists. Meanwhile, dead people (on Mars) have no more use for water, so it isn't hard to be more interested in it than they are, unless you are thinking about their spirits in the afterlife.

Absolutely, it's crazy.
Surely if we found the martian scientists first, we could get them to find the water for us.
It dosn't make any sense.
I'm with you on this one.
I suggest we start petitioning NASA, ESA and whatever the Chineese and Russian ones are called.

It has long been standard that Mars has ice caps that are especially water ice with a layer of C02 ice over the impressive. there has been circumstantial evidence of liquid water alongside with rivulets that seem to have been made by employing flowing liquid. there is a few debate over no count if those have been formed by employing water or another technique alongside with liquefied CO2. As of yet, no liquid water has been seen on Mars and any water this is theory to be on Mars is locked up contained in the ice caps or is frozen underground in permafrost.

There are no Martian scientists. But I'll have some of what you're smoking.

For some reason, Earthlings are obsessed with finding water on Mars. I bet the Martians were all like, "Hey, if you guys want to do our work for us, we ain't gonna complain." It's sort of like how the Vatican doesn't bother posting their own security force since the Swiss Army seems so willing to post an honor guard. If the neighbor's kid wants to shovel the snow from your driveway for free, would you turn him down? I didn't think so.

maybe because the Martian scientists are a figment of your imagination?

Dear Prof:

I think most people are fairly well convinced that there is no human life on MARS and certainly no Mars scientists.
