What does it mean when a pop up comes up on your computer and says that your security certificate has expired?

Means the web pages you are opening, or a perticular download does not have an upto date security certificate, or sometimes, owners, name, or company listed name.

If you go to start, windows updates, and click on custom scan, Microsoft will scan your pc for critical/non critical updates and you may see updates for "root certificates.

I just updated my certificates from Microsoft this week.

a trial etc has expired
and will not run anymore
