I have a network set up with a wireless router. Plugged into the router is: Internet, desktop, printer. The printer is plugged into both the router and the desktop. I can get to the internet on both computers, but i can only print from the desktop. Also I can't get the computers to talk to each other. HELP!

simple, but follow these steps carefully. First you want to make sure that all computers are on the same workgroup. Right click my computer, and rename the workgroup to where it is the samething on all the computers you want in the network. Secondly, on your Vista laptop, right click your wireless network and open "Network and Sharing center". there you will see "network and discovery settings" make sure you turn on network discovery, turn on file sharing, and turn on prnter sharing. on your XP computer, you have to run the "setup a home network wizard".

That should do it, if you are still having trouble then make sure your firewall is not blocking the network from becoming successful. you can modify your firewall to accept certain IP addresses, so if you think your firewall is an issue then try to figure out how to modify your fire wall to allow certain IP addresses to pass it.

You have a network printer connected to the router LAN and to the desktop. This is not needed. Connect it ONLY to the router LAN port. Make sure the printer works from the network now (if not reinstall the printer to work as a network printer).

Go to desktop pc once the printer works from it, go to printers and faxes, right click on the printer, select properties and select sharing. Follow prompts to share the printer.

Now go to the laptop. Open printers and faxes; select add a printer; select a printer on another pc or on the network (or words similar to this) and let the unit find the printer; follow the prompts to finsih and you can print.

Finally you say the computers cannot see each other yet they can see the internet. I presume you want to share files but cannot see folders. This is a security issue. Let's assume you want to share a folder on desktop c drive called "forms" (c:\forms). Open windows explorer (right click on start, select explore). Go to c:\forms. Right click on this and select sharing; select share on the network and follow the prompts. Select all of the access you wish (e.g. read only, read and change, etc). Now you have allowed c:\forms on desktop to be seen by other LAN users. Go to notebook, open Windows Explorer; go to my network places (near bottom of left column), Entire Network, Microsoft Windows network and click + sign left of Microsoft Windows Network. You should see the folder c:\forms under the desktop pc's name. You can now map to this if you want by going to Tools, map network drive and follow prompts.

You have to use just the ethernet connection and reinstall the printer as a shared network printer on both computers.

you are able to no longer study a guy to a girl. each and each is distinctive. yet a guy, and a woman, supplement one yet another. In different words, one guy and one woman (at the same time) is one unit. they seem to be a complementary pair.
