To Ruth and Kim,

In case you two ladies aren't aware, ALL Americans already bear the load for the country's health care problems, which include (but are not limited to) people who have poor health/eating/smoking habits (both con and lib, biotches), and money-sucking HMOs that most physicians do NOT LIKE.

Stop sitting on your high, white horses, acting like you cons are somehow harder-working, better off, more moral, etc., etc.

It's called the great conservative paradox;
Those who hate socialism the most are doing their best to make it necessary by allowing good paying American jobs that offered benefits to disappear from these shores.
When people can't afford regular medical care they will wait until their condition becomes critical before they seek it out and that gets really expensive really fast.
To be fair to the Republicans not all of the high cost of medical care is their fault; a lot of it's ours.
We are a consumer driven society that demands that the latest high -tech[read expensive ] toys be used to diagnose and treat our conditions.
If an MD screws up even in the least we have no hesitancy about suing for malpractice
The combination of MD's using high-tech for diagnosis, treatment and cya reasons also drives up the cost of medical care.

Oh dear...evidently you are either very young, very naive, or just very out of touch with reality. Do you have any idea how many patients are treated by hospitals FOR FREE because of their economic situations, and therefore the paying patients who have the good sense to have jobs that provide affordable insurance have to make up the difference. Helloooooo.

The reason it's so difficult to get decent care in hospitals is that they HAVE to treat everyone! People without insurance, people here illegally... they can't turn people away. That's why it is so hard to get decent care - people go to the emergency room for a head cold and other NON-emergencies because they are uninsured and can't see a regular doctor. That's why the wait is 3 hours for someone who thinks they might be having a heart attack (this actually happened to the brother of one of my friends in California).

Because of the campaign contributions and lobbyists that control the republicans. Pharmaceutical money is almost as good as oil money. Just ask Mitt Romney who is forcing all the residents of Massachucetts to get health insurance or else.

Why are Democrats so foolish to believe that there is such a thing as free healthcare.

Pay the hospital.. or pay the IRS, you're going to pay for it either way. Might as as well prevent the creation of another bloated government program and save us all a lot of hassle and money.

I'm a Republican and I hate the health care system. Go to the emergency room to wait 4 hours or more?? Not efficient at all.

I guess Republicans never visit the hospital? Couldn't possibly be our conviction that the government needs to stay out of the medical field.

Why do so many people expect the government to fix their personal problems?

It's because of the location of their head. It's kind of hard to see anything in there without a proctoscope.

Sounds like you need a new Proctologist.
