I would get rid of norton. I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps.

Remove Nortons as it is a hugh resource hog, and the odd time will find a virus and unable to remove. Not worth the money.

Here is an excellent from antivirus program from AOL, Active Virus Shield powred by Kaspersky Lab of Russia. Rated # 1 in the world for virus detection. You will get auto updates every hour on the hour, plus an excellent background scanner that really works great. AOL, will only ask you for your email so they can send you a free key good for one year. After one year just request a new key.

It is time to renew your Norton subscription, an expired subscription will no longer get definition updates for new viruses, leaving your computer at severe risk of infection.

That pop-up may be annoying, but not half as annoying as a total reformat and reinstall of your operating system and the loss of all your data, if a virus hoses your computer.

It's just what it say, it's out of date. Norton virus only last a year and then you have to renew it.

best just to go into the registry and delete the whole thing. You can download a free virus checker called AVG from www.grisoft.com. It connects every day to update and also checks all incoming e-mails and is very effective.
