and why was it scary...what made it scary...

HOSTEL.
that movie scared the freakin crapola outa me!
Its because the victims are tourists that are having fun one minute and the next they are being tortured in some sick kind of "pay-to-kill strangers" business.
If you havent seen it and dont like scary movies with people getting limbs cut off while they are still alive.....dont watch it.
Otherwise.... go for it.

The first Poltergeist. That creepy old man that looks like a skeleton. I don't think I've seen any movies since then that have been very scary to me. Of course, I was little when I saw Poltergeist.... lol

The jumpiest movie I've been to lately was The Grudge and I'm not sure why it was such a jumpy movie, but it was!! I especially was creeped out by the sound the ghost kept making ~ that throaty sucky sound.
A good old one is one of the trilogy of terror with the little doll that chases everyone around!!

Haven't really ran across that movie yet, but if it can make your @$$ hair stand then it is one scary movie! Oh, but "Don't go in the house" made the neck hairs ripple!!

and also The Blair Witch!
They both got to me on many levels and there is no way I could ever watch them by myself even in the daylight with all the lights on!
