Well, looking at it from a different point of view, although it is implied, it does not specifically state that it is a chicken egg. So assuming that the dinosaurs were around before chickens, the egg came first, and this egg was a dinosaur egg.

the egg,two animals came together, and made an egg,the egg produced the chicken, for the chicken to come first it would mean the chicken just pooped into existence, like BAM poof a chicken, makes no sense, even if you believe in god,the egg always comes first, look at deformities, they come from genetics in a womb or egg,two cell came together, then DNA formed and out of that a new species came...the chicken,it most likely took many years, but we finally got the chicken from so much different breeding

simple, the egg. through evolution a certain type of bird became more and more like a chicken of today until one day from an egg came the first chicken. so it evolved from a different bird but the bird that wasnt yet a chicken laid the first chicken egg

no, it wasnt God. x.x the chicken evolved before they actually started to lay eggs though. so the chicken came first. then the egg. unless you're talking about "an egg" in general coz there were animals which laid eggs before the chicken evolved.

The truth is revealed in this story.

A chicken and an egg were in bed together. The chicken was leaning against the headboard smoking a cigarette, having languid eyes and limpness all over.

The egg, agitated over the situation, rolled over and threw the covers over itself, exclaiming, "Now we know the answer."

The egg. At some point an offspring had just enough distinction from its parents to be classified a new species. Where the line is drawn is probably arbtrary and debatable, but that's what evolution would tell us.

The Egg. Since there is NO God, then it's only logical that the same picnic where some extra-terrestials spilled some rotten ham and it eventually evolved into Man... the same space men also left some hard boiled eggs... and those evolved into chickens.

I thought EVERYONE knew that.

Well in the dictionary (and in your question) "the chicken" is first.

Also, last time I asked them to come to me only the chicken crossed the road. The egg just laid there.
