My USB flash memory got infected by some virus that I couldn't erase, if I format is it a sure way to desinfect it?

ps. I don't care if I lose my information in the USB

A virus should not survive a normal format process but just to be sure I would use a wipe or erase program that will ensure that it is eradicated.

Yes you can format your flash drive, whoever said you can't is not sure what they are doing, or has a cheap "fake one" that uses a comression algorithm to make it look bigger than it is.
Also make sure you have up to date anti virus protexction on the PC

Yes, you can re-format the USB Flash drive. It works just like a regular hard drive, with sectors and partitions, etc.

Yes, format it will do. However, maybe you can try to run virus scanner software on your flash memory to see if it can remove the virus.

DO NOT FORMAT YOUR FLASH DRIVE,,,,,,, IF YOU DO THAT YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO USE IT AGAIN

just delete all the files then put other files on it.... you always delete files on a flash drive never format it
