Windows on a motorcycle!

Was the battery fully charged before installation? It should have been. Using an alternator to charge a battery can wreck the alternator. I'm seconding the suggestion to get a Clymer's manual. It really will tell you how to check your electrical system. It's what I used, to great advantage.

Get the Clymer manual and a multimeter. No, seriously. The manual will tell you how to test some of the components of your motorcycle before you take it all apart.

On my motorcycle, the stator is the problem. Just keep putting your battery on a charger until you can test your stator.

It might be that some of your connections are loose or corroded. Check those too.

It replaced right into a good cruiser, with a different offset crankshaft giving appropriate stability in a 40 5^ V sort and shaft force, If this is in stable shape and fits you you will like it. that's a Honda.

First, I had to laugh that a bunch of people think that a shadow is a car, and not a motorcycle...very funny. Anyway, there are two possible causes. Either the battery wasn't fully charged or your alternator isn't charging it.

I wouldn't replace the coil, not unless it is cranking but not starting. If you want to just throw parts at it, I'd do the starter next.

I would dump gasoline on it, and then shoot a flaming arrow into one of the windows....but thats just me. I don't have a high tolerance for cars that won't start.
