I say for putting many peoples lives at risk and possibly killing them he deserves to be put to death. Drastic I know but also why keep him around on a life sentence? Doesn't that just prolong the problem since his TB might never clear up? I say kill the guy and then burn the body to prevent any future infections. I have studied microbiology and I know how bad TB is when it's not the resistant strains. I would rather not have any possible risk of another outbreak in the US like we've had in the past.

Also you don't have to have symptoms for TB to be contagious. You can pick it up from surfaces because it is an acid-fast bacteria and therefore can survive in dry, arid conditions for a while. And no the media isn't punishing him enough he needs to be slammed more if you ask me. He did know he had it and was advised to not travel and snuck back anyway so its his problem.

what- you don't think he's being punished enough by the media.

What would you do if you were traveling overseas and were in that situation? He was not symptomatic and therefore it was very unlikely that he could transmit the disease.

the media is blowing this all out of proportion. nothing happened.

No I don't think he's being punished enough by the media. He brought all this on himself. Of course he's sorry now. Because he's caught and in the media spotlight and getting all this negative press. He had a total disregard for everyone he came into contact with, including his new wife. Wonder how is father-in-law feels about that.

I don't feel that he should be put to death, either. He definitely should serve many, many years in prison...after his quarantine is over.

The fact that he apologizes means nothing to me. He did put people at risk. He should be jailed. This strain of TB is extremely dangerous for all humans. He careless had to go get married and honeymoon without concern for anyone else in the world.

My cousin has her PhD in Microbiology and had said a few years ago that the strain of TB that is drug resistant is what is going to kill us all. I noticed how much they've down played the whole thing. I understand his father-in-law work for the CDC in the TB area and he should have told his SIL NOT to travel.

It really angers me that this guy didn't care that he could have given 100s of people this dangerous disease. Jail. I know a couple of other people who say he should be put to death also.
