Has anyone "successfully" got pregnant after timing intercourse for every other day of the week during ovulation? I did not want to use the basal temperature but have tried to time intercourse based on my Cervix mucus and we have done it every other day for the last week (assuming I was ovulating) and was wondering if this will work? I am not going to take the pee test b/c I don't want to be disappointed, but my period is due next week so I'll wait to see if it comes -- but at the same time, i am so curious whether or not I've hit the jackpot. We have been diligent in trying to have sex every other day for at least a week. Thank you for all your responses!

wel the BBT tracking is to know that you ovulated. so if you are worried you are not ovulating, then you should track it. i've been tracking it for one month now and i'm so used to it already. but for me, it actually took me 5 months to get prego. we planned every month, with the help of clomid too. so after the 4th attempt the doc suggested to get and hcg shot, and what do you know, i got pregnant. we did have timed intercourse every other day, with the extra help from docs with the medication and stuff. the cervical fluid is a good thing to track too. b/c when the cervical fluid is egg white and stretchy, it is easier for sperm to swim around and find your egg. but if you did not ovulate, then it woulnd't matter if your cervical fluid could strecth for 100 of miles. get what i mean. it's best to use all tools you can, to help you find out the most fertile days to help your chances of conceiving. you might want to invest in an ovulation predictor kit. if you cycles are usually 28 days, you usually ovulate on day 14. but plus or minus a few days if your cycles is longer or shorter. good luck. i found out i was prego at 4 weeks, just two weeks after i ovulated. when i took the test at 3 weeks, it came negative. so make sure to wait. b/c i had the first negative test, i took another one at the end of 4 weeks and got another positive, eventhough iwas 95% sure i was prego, i just had to double check myself....must be b/c this is my first pregnancy. i'm currently 5 weeks pregnant. good luck and congrats if you are.

If you have sex every other day within 5 days of ovulation (and 1 day afterwards), you have a very good chance of getting pregnant. My hubby and I timed everything perfect (I didn't chart BBTs) but it still took us 5 months to get pregnant.

If you're not due for another week, wait a couple days before testing. Implantation would just be occuring now and you'll get a negative because it's too early to tell. Wait at least 3 or 4 more days. Good luck!

Even with well-timed intercourse the average couple only has about a 20% chance each cycle. Also, a pregnancy test will not even be accurate til about 14 days past ovulation or when your period is due.

The egg is only viable for about 36 hours.

Stop trying to make it happen. Just have sex. Thats how you make babies. Stressing over making it happen makes it not work. One of those cooky things about the female body.

But yeah, having sex around your time of ovulation is certainly how you get babies.

Be pregnant!

When I was trying to get pregnant a few years ago, my doctor recommended having sex every second day from day 5 to day 25 and it worked. I wish you the best.
