As many people can wish on it as they want; it's unlikely that anyone's wish will be granted though. A "shooting star" is just a meteor entering Earth's atmosphere and burning up. There's nothing magical about it.

Since it's a shooting star, it is constantly losing 'star' material, so in reality, each instant, it's a different star. As long as two people don't wish at the exact same instant, a shooting star can receive a LOT of wishes!!!!

wish on one tonight.

Generaly, only one person can wish upon the same shooting star. However, if there are two people standing closely together, and they both stand on one foot only, that also meets the rules and they can make their wishes together.

Of course more than one person can wish on a shooting star, what is to stop them?

Sure. People all across town can be wishing on the same star, but only the first person will get their wish and no one can really tell if they were or not, not knowing who else is gazing up at the sky at that moment...

There are no such things as shooting stars. They are actually meoterios flying through earth's atmosphere and burning. It is still cool to see them though.

One person, one star...that is fair...there are plenty of shooting stars.

Scientifically speaking, NO! All of the magic wish power is used up as soon as the first person's heart sends out its invisible wishy-ons, and collide with the meteor in the upper atmosphere!

....duh!?
