I root for a lower paid team and every time they consecutive good years, they're bought out. It's unfortunate that teams like the Red Sox and Yankees have to buy their titles. To me, that's the cheap and easy way out. It puts a scar on their title. No respect.

Teams should be made by the talent they have in finding deals on good players, that no one really thinks much of, instead of buying the all-stars. The Twins for example, are a low budget team, but make up for it with smart choices. Like the A.J Pierzynski trade to SF. They got Joe Nathan, Boof Bonser, and Fransico Liriano for a catcher that hasn't been doing all that great since. And the Twins replacing A.J with an amazing high school catcher, Joe Mauer. This is the way the MLB should be, make teams with your brains and not your $$$.

I agree! The Yankees have been buying their titles for years! The only sensible thing to do is to bring a salary cap into baseball! It would bring more excitement to the game as more teams would have a chance at the title! The way things are set up now it will be the same old, same old, for the next 100 years! How boring!

Salary Cap would help out alot. While lower salaries, the big thing it would do is allow teams to retain players because they do not have to go into bidding wars to keep them. Teams should be rewarded for developing their own talent, not punished. I would stop teams from overpaying players too. I like Vernon Wells, be is in not worth that much coin, but Jays panicked and overpaid because they knew what the market would pay. A cap would lower this market.

A salary cap would ruin baseball. It is a horrible idea. I like the current luxury cap. If Steinbrenner wants to pay $200 million then he'll just have to add a little more to pass around the league.

having a cap would help the inflated salaries players are getting. there would be no more bidding wars and guys like gil meche wont be making 10 mill a year or zito wont have a 126 mill cotnract and arod wouldnt have a quarter billion dollar contract. i like the idea of a salary cap but of course money rules the world and players association would hate that idea.

it would be good to have a salary cap for MLB like in other sports, but i don't think it will happen. The players union would reject that in a second.
