In a democratic style of government, varying views from different parties serve to develop a constructive consensus. In current US politics, Republicans disregard any view but their own making a consensus impossible. By that logic, I can see where they serve no purpose.

Do the vast majority of the people in the US have any need or use for replublicans?

In every story, you need a villain.

I guess it applies to reality, too.

Search and replace 'Republican' with 'Democrat' and your question would be just as valid.

And have about the same answer: No.

The parties have polarized to the point that they can no longer work together effectively. All they can do is trade places. While the republicans were in power, the democrats were a useless opposition party with nothing to offer but criticism. The same will be true of republicans when a Democrat wins the next presidential election - assuming Congress stays the same or gains more democrat seats.

As it stands now, with a Republican Administration and a bare Democratic majority in Congress, the best our government can come up with is an Amnesty bill.

In a democracy we need dissenting view points and differences of opinion. Republicans and democrats, others too for that matter, are important to ensure the healthy exchange of ideas all aimed at making the country more like what the people want it to be.

The GOP is going through some rough times thanks to the Neocons and Bushies. They will recover. I believe there are still fine traditional middle of the road Republicans out there that will some day bring their party back to the center and sanity. The Democrats had similar problems in the 70s and 80s. As one ebbs the other flows. I believe it will be at least a decade, perhaps more before the Grand Old Party is restored to its true grandness. Meanwhile we will make progress with the ones that are progressive and in power despite the ridiculous right.

Disregard people's view.

You mean the vast majority that believe the partial birth abortion ban should have been pass but 1 democrat president keep vetoing it.

The same party who wants a draft while the miltiary and the rest of America doesn't.

The party that conducting hearings on 9/11 consparceis. Oh wait that is 1/3 of the base of the DNC never mind.

We need both Republicans and Democrats to keep the balance.

I have seen how each party is when they control it all and it isn't good for America.

So by you keeping this frame of mind that all republicans are useless and their rebuttals are simply tossing out "any view but their own," Are you not automatically reducing any suggestion by conservatives as right wing propoganda, thereby condemning yourself uselessness? Are you not closing your mind to the possibility of intelligent conservatism?

"Does the vast majority of the people" (btw you should try proper grammar sometime) in the US have any need or use for you?

First of the USA is a democratic Republic...not a democracy. A subtle but important difference.

As to the Republicans? I would find them much more useful if they actually put candidates up for election that would actually DO what their party platform says...instead they act in many ways no different than Democrats.

Whatever on your view of the Republicans but what need do we have of our democratic party that as of today isn't doing anything?

Yes, our purpose is to point out how the Libtards warped way of thinking and leading is destroying this country from within.

Our purpose is to remind you Leftists....

YOU are the ones who want to punish people for working hard and being successful by taxing them to the hilt to support those that sit on their asses and get a welfare check.

YOU are the ones who want to enlarge the government and pull in more taxes, create more beauracracies to give our tax dollars away to “underserved populations”. They are underserved because they REFUSE to serve THEMSELVES!

YOU are the ones who would rather apologize for those that attack us and kill our citizens rather than doing what needs to be done and exterminate them from the face of this earth like so much VERMIN.

YOU are the ones who ruin the idea of the working man and the working class family by welcoming illegal aliens into our country who take jobs away.

YOU are the ones who are destroying the working class family by telling the country it is okay to have children out of wedlock that you cannot SUPPORT, that it is okay for two men to adopt a child and raise him in a home telling him that it is natural and right.

YOU are the ones who are trying to force multi-culturalism down our throats and strip the American people of the culture this country and the principles which it was founded on. The principles of Hard work and faith in God.

You can spill all the damn fluff you want while you are driving your Prius (I call it a Pious) at 10 miles an hour under the speed limit because you are so busy looking down your nose at those of us that are “working class” that you cannot see the roadway to drive properly.

But leave the rest of us that know what this country can be, and what it means to be a hard working, God fearing, respectable and moral citizen out of your sick twisted view of what is right and what is wrong.

Raising your children in a traditional home, with a proper diet, strong morals and a desire to succeed in life is not wrong. I stand by those words.

actually, diversity is much greater in the GOP. you have guys like rudy that are fiscal conservatives, but are also pro-choice and for gay marriage. you also have ethnic diversity in the top levels of govt that you never saw with clinton. liberals talk about diversity, but when it comes down to it they demand a wealthy white draft-dodger to be president. look at san fran...their "diversity" is nothing more than a city full of homosexuals and asians.
