Learn by your mistakes. Have honesty , love , compassion, companionship, faithfulness and patience. I am also engaged to be married for the second time at the age of 60. good luck.

Love with God's love, not your own. Human love is fallible, God's love isn't. And read The Marriage Book by Nicky and Sila Lee - it's full of wonderful ideas and funny stories.
(I'm sorry to anyone who keeps seeing me mention that book, I'm not their publicist, it's just an amazing book!)

Be 100% painfully truthful with EVERYTHING. Even something as stupid as...clipping your toes in the dark, in bed.
Include simple things you take for granted. Otherwise, you have hired another "manager" that will try to make the needed corrections in your life...to fit her idea of the "perfect" mate.
