PART ONE:
"If Tomorrow Never Comes"
Marshal Matt Dillon was in his office when he received a telegram. It was from the State Penitentiary, in Topeka . Apparently the two desperados that Matt had caught last year, and both sentenced to life, had ESCAPED. Warden Allen Alcatraz
wanted to alert Matt......Both men had bragged over and over again that they would get Matt and make him pay! Ordinarily Matt would not have given it too much notice. This time he was concerned. Ever since he and Sunshine MacGillicutty had hooked up, his priorities had changed. He felt a great need to protect her, and maybe.....just maybe...... be a little more cautious himself. He hadn't lost his bravery or sense of duty....It's just that....well........Being in love has a way of reorganizing our thoughts and actions. To himself, " I've Got A Good Thing Going with my darlin' Sunny. Nothing or nobody is going to take this from us!"
He folded the telegram and put it in his vest pocket. A storm was brewing as he headed out of Dodge and went home for the evening. He pulled his collar up as the storm worsened.
Matt:" Everytime That It Rains
The lighening strikes, 2. The Thunder Rolls and I'm usually in the saddle, dang it!!" He got to Sunny's farm JUST before a deluge.
As always, she was waiting at the front door for him. She treated Matt with loving care and she treated him with respect. Sunshine adored her Matt. She held the door open for him as he ran inside.
Matt:"Oh, Sunshine......It's so good coming home to you. As soon as i get my raincoat off, I'm going to hold you, darlin'."
Sunshine smiled as she took his coat and hung it up.
Matt:"Why are you so good to me?" He put his arms around her and stroked her hair.
Sunshine:"Babydoll, I love you like 4. Papa Loved Mama."
Matt laughed and kissed her.
Matt:" I hate to ask you something of an upleasant nature, at a time like this, but......Did those twin brothers come out today to do the repair work?"
Sunshine:"Yes, they did. Those two fellas sure are 5. Two of a Kind. Working on a Full (out) House is a tough job, you know.....But they both told me........It was a nasty job, but someone had to do it......And they did it. Problem is all gone, Matt. It has been FLUSHED out of our lives!!"
Matt and Sunshine had their supper on the couch, in front a lovely fire. Unbeknownst to them, the two desperados were watching them from one of the windows. Billy Bob Ketchum and Joe Don Killam were waiting for the perfect moment to strike. They saw Matt's gun on the table in front of him. Now was NOT a good time. They shivered and shook as they waited outside, the storm blowing all around them.
Joe Don: " That sure looks cozy in there. I hate to be 6. Standing Outside the Fire. It's as cold as a Boot Hill grave, out here."
Billy Bob:"Just ONCE I wish we could do one of our dastardly deeds 1. Somewhere Other Than the Night. It's so blamned hard to see! Shoot! I can't even see you!"
When he said "shoot," Joe Don drew his weapon broke the window and shot!! ((( BANG ))). The bullet creased Matt's head. Billy Bob didn't have time to yell at his partner. Sunshine was already reaching for Matt's gun.
Billy Bob shot the lock off the front door and pushed it opened......."Drop it, little Missy!!" Sunshine put it down and put her arm around Matt.
Billy Bob:"Well, looky here.The Marshal's got himself a girlfriend.......Now ain't that sweet!!"
Joe Don:" First we're gonna wait out the storm. Then you two lovey doveys are coming with us!!"
Matt, in a dazed state looked into Sunshine's eyes.
Sunshine:" Don't you worry, baby. We'll figure out something.
You just wait and see.......3. We Shall Be Free.

You know, Papa loved Mama and they were two of a kind, working on a full house. But one night, as the thunder rolls, lightning struck, and there we all were standing outside the fire. Yep, lighting struck the porch roof. Fortunately for the family, we have a lot of friends in low places and they came and helped us move. Mama did the dance across the yard as we moved into our new trailer. I grinned as I looked across the street and saw the good-lookin boy over there. Lordy, we shall be free I thought as he took my hand and we headed somewhere other than the night.

I hate country music, but here goes anyway:
Somewhere Other Than the Night, where The Thunder Rolls, there was a land where slaves were kept. My papa was one of them. One day, while tilling the farm, after drinking from his canteen, my papa noticed a beautiful lady going to his master's door. My papa didn't know anyone that my master knew, because my papa's house was the barn.
He eavesdropped on the beautiful lady's conversation with his master, and learned that this was his master's daughter that had came to visit her father after being away for quite a while. The next day, she noticed my papa and they made eye contact. She came over to him and instantly told him to stop what he was doing, which at that time was getting the chicken feed.
She told him she is taking him with her against her father's will. They ran off to a different continent and got married. This lady became my mama. Papa LovedMama, but they had no home in which to settle in. Papa and mama found a home eventually and settled in. They had 12 children. Papa and Mama were Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House. They were happy together. But that happiness would soon change.
One night, my papa's former owner hired people to search for his daughter and my papa. Well, eventually they found my mama and my papa. They brought both of them, and us kids, back to my papa's master. He decided to kill my papa, but let my mama live, but denied her anything of his upon his death. which would soon follow.
It was night, and as The Thunder Rolls, they put my papa to a stick of wood that they intended to burn. My papa's master decided to light him. But as soon as the gas was poured and the match was lit, my papa grabbed his former master by the throat with an arm he managed to get loose. Others tried to get the master loose, but as soon as they got close enough, the fire roared in their way. All my mother could do is watch, Standing Outside the Fire. But before everyone fled the scene, they all heard a cry from my papa, saying "We Shall Be Free!"
And he was correct, the next day, the Supreme Ruler of the land where The Thunder Rolls, slavery was banished, and all slaves were set free.
