Only bring what you can afford to lose. Take that amount and divide it by the number of days you plan to gamble and put each days budget into separate envelopes. You can even take it further and divide each day into separate sessions. Anything left after each day/session is added into your funds for the next session or put away/taken home for the next trip. This will keep you from losing everything the first day and having no money for the rest of your trip.
I know people who have had lots of fun and hours of gambling on just $100 a day and then there are others who might gamble $1,000 or $10,000 a day. Just stay within your own budget. I think $2,000 is plenty for a week in Las Vegas.

If money wasn't an issue you wouldn't be asking this so I am going to assume that you are a low stakes player.
You will need $50 per day to eat (unless you eat fast food) and drink. You can get by on gambling (without feeling like you have nothing to do) with $200 per day. Seek out the less expensive tables if you are trying to get away with this though. Nothing over $5.00 and don't be fooled by the $.05 slots that are really $.05 x 9 lines x 5 max credits. That is not a $.05 slot. Casino Royale is an economical place to gamble as are the downtown casinos. During the day some of the nicer casinos may have $5.00 tables but they are getting more difficult to come by.

My husband and I go to Vegas at least once a year and there are always new things to see.
We usually take a day and start at the end -- which is Luxor -- or the beginning, depending on your point of view.
We have a "one hour or $50 rule" -- whichever comes first. We each have $50 per casino and at the end of one hour, we leave. If the $50 doesn't last an hour, we move faster.
Many times we have made decent money doing this. Our best day, we ended up with $3,000. You don't blow it when you have a commitment to leave. Plus, you see of all the places.
Have fun and good luck.

The big question: How much are you willing to lose?
I'd say about $500 for EACH casino you plan to visit in a day would be ample. But this depends if you play 5-cent or 5-dollar slots, high or low-stake table games, or if you just sit in a poker room for a pot-limit tourney that could take few hours on a small amount of money.

well... i see your point on bringing them to coyote ugly... is not good at all. but i live in las vegas.. with 3 siblings a 1,7,and 12 yearold.. and we're perfectly fine. and when i was little there would be daycares in some casinos to keep your kids in., and those people probably didnt have a clue about these say cares or they didnt have a babysitter which they should have found. but bringing your kids to vegas.. is no problem unless you have no idea what your doing around here.

are u kidding? A week in Vegas can be very expensive. If you gamble you will have to set a limit per day, say $100-$200. You can find not to expensive hotel rooms. So for a week I would bring $2,000 to $3,000 plus a credit card. A week in Vegas is usually to long. 3-4 days is plenty.

as much as you can afford to lose. honestly, when you gamble in casinos, you have to face the reality that you might leave with $0.00. i would reccomend a couple thousand for a week in vegas, and that's for light betting.

This is an easy question. How much can you afford to lose and write it off as entertainment?
