ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Just think about it for a second... WHY would something new with 56 more pins fit into the same slot of your old RAM?

DDR and DDR2 are different animals, like V6 is to a V8. Sure they're both internal combustion engines. Doesn't mean they are going to share a lot of parts.

Umm no. DDR is a different standard than DDR2....plus a 184 pin slot is not going to connect to a RAM chip with 240 pins. It would just not work.

No. You can't mix DDR and DDR2. And with the differing numbers of pins, they are physically incompatible.

You already have 184-pin DDR RAM, so that's what your computer's motherboard will recognize and that's what you need to stick with.

240 pin RAM will have different slip-in points against a 184 pin RAM so even if you try... You cant :)

They are not compatible. The pins line up with the pins on the motherboard. the 240 shouldn't even fit in the slot.
