i was just watching the video of the lebanese army shelling an al-caida hideout. why is it called a camp? it looks like a nicely built arab city. i think of a camp as tents. and how can you be a refugee after 50 years? arent they part of the arab people? arent they part of the muslim family?

You, my dear, have hit the nail on the head! Why aren't they Lebanese citizens after all these years, and why are they kept in the ghetto? Nearly all the Christians fled Lebanon years ago. When will they ever be able to tolerate their own people????

Starting at the back first. There isn't a Muslim family. There was when Mohammad died but it has split into warring factions centuries ago over religious differences. Haven't you noticed in Iraq most of the killing and torture is between Shii' and Sunni? The teenage girl who was stoned to death was guilty of loving a boy from the other sect. The Lebanese army is shelling a contained foreign "development" on their soil. Originally the people were displaced war refuges that Lebanon took in but enclosed in a fenced camp. They couldn't come or go without passes, couldn't be citizens, couldn't work without a pass; a Ghetto. Now their grandchildren are in the same situation. The city is a result of 50 years support from international groups. Al Qui'da is there to exploit the situation, just as they are in Iraq. Al Qui'da is a Saudi Arabian based group. All in all they kill more Muslims (who won't join them) than they do anyone else. They lead the conflicts in Sudan, Somali, and Iraq. The only good Saddam did was suppress Al Qui'da with an iron fist.
