Butler was a coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks for the 2005 season. He was hired to manage the Lancaster JetHawks of the class-A advanced club for the 2006 season. He was hired to manage the Mobile BayBears a newly acquired Double-A team Arizona Diamondbacks for the 2007 season

He retired after the 1997 season. He's currently the manager of the Mobile BayBears, the AA-level minor league affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

He's probably in JAIL because he was caught stealing so many times. He led the league in getting caught stealing three times, and he is third on the all-time list. The only guys ahead of him are Ricky Henderson and Lou Brock, who have A LOT more successful steals.
