I wash plastic liners and fabric liners and the shower curtains. I buy good quality and I have never had one fall apart and they last forever. The plastic liners are very thick and I wash in regular washer and I hang to dry. I do recommend a liner and a shower curtain both but they both need to be washed monthly or more often if lots of users.
