Have someone pull the codes from the computer...
Most likely it has to do with your emission control system.
Did you fill-up your tank recently?

Yes it could be one of 200 items. I would bet that it is an EVAP code, which is mo"st likely a loose gas cap. If you haven't filled up since the light came on check it. If it turns some before it "clicks", that was the problem. Always tighten to 3 click or more, always. If that was the case the light will go off after a while. If that is not the case, or you have filled up since, you should have someone check the code. If it is not the gas cap it is most likely the O2 sensor. Always the best thing to do is to get someone to check the code. p.s.- on this car if it is an evap code and it returns the 2 way valve and cvs should be replaced--these are damaged by "topping off" your tank when you fill it. When the pump stops do not put any more gas in the car!

there are about 200 reasons why a check engine light will come on. The only way to find out the reason it came on it to take it to an autozone or aamco or mechanic (the first 2 are free to read the light). The code that turned on the light will tell you what needs to be repaired (example: oxygen sensor needs to be replaced)

Sometimes my check engine light comes on if I don't screw the gas cap on tight enough. You should probably get it checked out either way. I think Aamco will do a free inspection (they just hook a machine up to your car's computer to see why the light came on). Hope that helps.

First you have to know that there is a recall on the accord. the number is 00-053 (bulletin) These where sold in California.and Vin numbers JHMCG660.YC016187 Thur YC031446. If that is not it then, the next step is to have the computer scanned for codes, then come back,or have it repaired.
