Well, I've been through the process: undergrad, exams, apps. "Boom. There [you] are" is NOT how I'd characterize the process by which a person becomes a physician. I'd also recommend you begin taking better care of how you write things, even online. Sloppy netspeak erodes proper communication skills, a necessity when you want to be a doctor (there is an ESSAY portion on the MCAT, and it is important).

The GRE is an exam you take to enter graduate school (masters and doctorate programs). It consistes of verbal, math and writing sections. It's much like the SAT. The MCAT is the entrance exam for medical school. It consists of verbal, biological sciences, physical sciences and essay. I have taken BOTH exams, and I attest that the MCAT is exponentially more difficult than the GRE. Both exams are now computer based.

Stress level depends on your coping mechanisms and environment. I was pre-med at UC Berkeley, a university renowned for its stiff level of competition. My hair actually started to grey during organic chem; its color returned when I finished the course series. When I took the MCAT, I prepped for MONTHS ahead of time, taking classes an such. The test wasn't stressful, but it was EXHAUSTING. Then during applications, I regularly had panic attacks at night because I'd freak out over my essays, deadlines, etc.

Costs? The pursuit of medicine is expensive. I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on applications.
MCAT = $275
MCAT prep class = $600 to $1500
AMCAS round 1 applications = $200 to $2000
Secondary applications = $60 to $150 PER SCHOOL
Interview travel fare = $500 to $2000
New suit for interviews = $80 to $300

Notice I did not even figure in the cost of tuition.

Biochemistry is a suitable major for pre-med; however, medical schools want well-rounded students. You can major in ANYTHING and be admitted to med school provided you complete and do well in your pre-req classes. These include:
1 year general chem (with lab)
1 year organic chem (with lab)
1 year general biology (with lab)
1 year intro. physics (with lab)
1 year English
1 year calculus
Suggested coursework includes: psychology, statistics, biochemistry, humanities

As for your school choices, I'd say UIUC is a better choice for its ranking and because it has its own med school. No, going to UIUC for undergrad won't guarantee you a place in their med school. But if you can land a research work-study job, or volunteer gig at the medical school, you'll look REALLY GOOD on your apps. You'll also make friends in high places and get lots of good letters of recommendation for med school. Besides, it's good to get away from home.

Okay, I am taking a stab at this but, biochemistry is not enough for medical school. You definitely need to add biology and do a double major. The reason being is because with biochemistry, it is in reference to how the body works chemically and what can harm it. With biology, you are specifically looking at the human body and how it made up. In other words, information one major will compliment the other. that is why you should do both. It will be a lot of hard work, but I think you can do it.

In reference to Urbana or Benedictine, you may want to find out the stats on how many students have become doctors from each school in the last 5 years and where the generally got accepted. You can find out this information through the career centres of either school. I also encourage you to speak to you family doctor because he or she knows you and will be able to steer you in the correct direction. I hope this helps

Manchester United are not going to vanish each time quickly - they seem to be a marvelous club interior the genuine experience of the word. Their historic previous and record is sensational. To be honest, Liverpool have been a great team as quickly as and besides the shown fact that it became into it slow in the past, i relatively won't be able to see them fading off into obscurity the two. communities that have risen to the point of suitable ten interior the optimum League in England are in many circumstances nicely-primary and that i won't be able to see relegation threatening the two guy Utd or Liverpool interior the forseeable destiny. Cheers.

Please edit your question to explain this sentence "i want to go medical school so i dont want undergrad debt." Do you know how much debt you will run up going to med school?
