Venezuela is the best case study right now on the rise of fascism. We have been seeing Chavez slowly and methodically consolidate power for several years now. At this point, he will likely only be removed by internal revolution. Such revolution will become more and more difficult to pull off as he further clamps down on opposition.
He has been nationalizing industries and speaking of communism as the objective. I have always felt that it was a trick among political scientists to place fascism on the "Right" of the "Political Spectrum". I suspect that this was done to give those intellectuals, who favored national socialism/communism, some distance from Hitler and Moussoulini, who they obviously had some differences with. These leftist intellectuals may have had a distaste for the result of the actual practice of these socialistic experiments, but it does not change the fact that the means of consolidating power to build a tyrannical form of government is, at it's heart, a requirement of both fascism and of communism/socialism. The differences are debatable among intellectuals, but in practice are inconsequential.

Although officially Communist I would say many Fascist traits exist in North Korea. Another country that comes to mind without much thought is Venezuela.

Probobly Sudan. But no one cares about it because its in the ****-hole of Africa. Anyway, this country is in need for a change. I wouldn't be suprised if revolution turned the country into a communist of fascist state. It could go either way.
