I received a raise in January. I still think I'm underpaid. How soon can I request a raise and how do I do so? I have some leverage because I am the only one that does what I do.

You need to approach your boss and prove to him that you deserve a raise -- show him what you have done to better your business or save your company money

You might be right, but it would be bad form to go back so soon. BTW, how is that the pay you received in January was satisfactory, but it's not four months later?

Most employers review employees an salaries on an annual basis. Don't try to squeeze your employer with your leverage. He will let you walk. If you are not satisfied with your wages, look for another job.

ask for another small raise sometime in the next couple of months. especially if you are the only one that does your job.
