I always show respect and am reserved.
I am not loud, boisterous or act in any childish manner at work. Im 27, yet people always think they can treat me like I am a kid.

I think it's a control factor. People (adults) treat you like a child by means to control you.
What do you think?

LOL Yes! I work with all men and they've taken to thinking I can't (or shouldn't) do some things on my own. If I'm in the supply cabinet reaching up to grab a new pen, it's "Hey! Hey! Easy! Let me get that!" If I'm going to make oatmeal and want to use that hot water spicket on the filtering machine, someone'll say, "Careful! That's hot water!" If I pull out a pair of scissors, ohh it's ridiculous. And I'm a grown woman who doesn't act OR look like a child!

I act like a child on Christmas, at Disneyland and when I see a great rock concert. So yes, I am treated like such at those times. But as far as normal daily life, nobody has treated me like a child because I use common sense and logic to not act like one. Believe me, there are plenty of adults out there that deserve to be treated like one.

I have a sister in law who was a kindergarten teacher. She is three years older than me and five years older than my husband. She led him around by the hand for his entire life, as she does her parents. So when I came into the picture she thought she could do the same to me!! She constantly talks to me like I am four and explains things in such a way that I would love to just scream!!

Ironically, my children are beginning to treat me that way. You have to have a cell phone mom.
Where were you, we were worried! Why didn't you answer the phone.
You aren't visiting chat rooms on that thing are you? LOL!
They're sweet and overly protective. Smiles.
