Wireless can be problematic. Are you moving around when things fail? Wireless signal may have a problem going through masonery walls, metal (e.g. ductwork in the wall you cannot see), etc.

Interference from other radio frequency devices (cordless phones, electric motor, fluorscent lights, etc) can be a problem.

You say the wireless router is working OK and I am assuming the configuration did not change so all should be OK.

Another thing to consider is upgrading the router's firmware. If you do this be sure to use a wired connection to the pc and router. Go to the router maker's web site and see if you can upgrade the router firmware.

It could be affected by interference from appliances in your home such as baby monitors, a microwave, even lighting. I'd see if there's any link between the time the connection drops and when something is switched on or off in the room or nearby.

Could the problem be the location of the phone socket you are connected to. I've been told that if you are on an extension that there may be a problem (signal loss in the cable, particularly if aluminium cable not copper)..
