Dear quantum field:
I am sorry to have to inform you like this, in such an impersonal way, but I have done something irresponsible. I hope you can find it in your quantum field heart to forgive me. When we were quantum intimate, I was carrying a disease. A quantum field disease. As there were many times that I collapsed your wave function without quantum field protection, it is a distinct possibility that you have been infected. I am truly sorry, and hope that you have not been infected, but I urge you to go to a quantum mechanic and get yourself tested right away.
Love,
Humanity

The Secret is NOT based on science. There is no 'law of attraction' and it's obvious to anyone who's studied physics that they have NO idea what quantum mechanics is. They're just trying to use it to justify their idea, knowing full well that most of the public doesn't have a clue what quantum mechanics is and will just accept whatever they say.
Want to learn some quantum mechanics and see for yourself? I recommend Griffiths' "Introduction to Quantum Mechanics", Liboff's "Quantum Mechanics", and Sakurai's "Modern Quantum Mechanics". Have fun.

The quantum field is space.
The quantum effect is the anomalous aspect of space and time that causes it to expand and evolve into the universe we see and experience to-day

Are you talking about people going around collapsing wave functions left and right? Yes, wavefunction collapse does require an observer, but we don't actually infect the field. It's just an illusion resulting from our inability to perceive events uncorrelerated from those we do see (by definition). Illusions have more to do with perception than the objective external universe (should there be one).

i could be wrong but i think you mean affect, not infect, unless we're giving quarks a disease.
