I loved the film and I thought Gary Oldman was brilliant but wasn't crazy about some of the other choices (for different reasons). Please let me know what you think.

Really good movie with terrific casting. Loved Oldman and Chloe Webb was just fine.

It's been so long since I've seen it, but I agree that Gary Oldman as Sid was great. I thought Chloe Webb did a fine job as Nancy. ...I might have to see it again. One thing that sticks out in my mind that I've always wondered: Who was that guy supposed to be that sang to John Lydon on the bus-- "I want a job, I want a job, I want a real job/ One that pays..."?

Although Courtney Love was not well known at the time and had a small part in the film, I think she would have made a much more believable Nancy.
I do love Chloe Webb, but she was not gritty enough for the role.

I liked the cast myself. None of them were so well-known at the time that their prior history interfered with the story. Oldman has been brilliant in everything I've seen him in.

Gary Oldman is always awesome but i thought the actress that played Nancy was f**n hidious! the real Nancy was pretty!

I think they did a great job casting both sid and nancy. I think they showed how f*cked up they really were in real life. It really would have sucked if they had tried to cast big name celebs like John Travolta or Michelle Phiffer (msp). Screw the DARE program that movie is what made me never to want to take drugs.

Exactly...only Oldman could have pulled that off..he was the only one I could remember..Great actor..more to come ,I reckon.
