No. Horoscopes in newspapers are carefully written to be applicable to almost anyone. "Be careful of money this week," "You may meet a friendly stranger" and so forth, One newspaper had a few hundred of these and kept them in two boxes on slips of paper. Every day the junior reporter would take one from the first box and transcribe it to the newspaper under say Gemini, the next one went under Taurus etc. He then put the paper slip in the second box. When one box was empty they shook the other box up and stared taking from that one. Back in the 1970s in France a test of horoscopes written by "real" astrologers was made. A few dozen prominent but not famous people like town mayors, local sports champions, hospital matrons and local scientists, engineers, professors were chosen since their careers were well known. Their birth dates and places were sent to the astrologers but not their names. The resulting horoscopes were compared with these people and there was no correspondence. There was a slight tendency for the astrologers to predict science careers correctly but it was not statistically significant, In other words the results were random.

I'm not an atheist, actually. I'm pagan :p ... ok seriously now; I'm actually Catholic - but the kind of catholic you would only find around Ireland and certain parts of Northern France and in my family - my grandmother actually does offerings to statuettes of saints and she has a saint for every illness so to speak :p ... She's brilliant, I love her!
Anyway, one thing you should explain to all of us. We should not believe in Astrology, because it is a trick of Satan. How is it then, that Astrology is at least 3000 years older than the Bible, and that Satan didn't even exist in the old testament? (which is, after all, the first copy) and only came to life in the New Testament, when people started to lose their faith in the Bible? ... You do realise that Satan is actually an invention of the Church to keep people scared and on their toes all the time.
So in a nutshell; how can a 3000 year old 'belief' or what you want to call it (I prefer to call it a 'study') be the invention of a fictional character who is at least 2000 years younger than this 'belief'? And let alone, if you trace it back, Astrology would even be an invention of the Church itself, because the Church invented the devil...
Food for thought :)

Maybe God created astrology to affect the personalities of his people. That would just give scientists another reason to debunk astrology huh? To say that it is the work of God.
The truth is no one really knows for sure do they? As for day to day horoscopes, I agree with you. An absolute waste of time. But as far as personalities, I do find some sort of truth.

Of course God is real. And so is Mother God, Azna. And so is Queen Lilith of the Underworld.
But Satan is just an imagined character to make people live in fear.

Indeed, knowledge prior to christianty (read: legends) tell that the birth of Saturn coincides with the apparition of astrology among Sumerians, and later among Egyptians (still related to --- black --- cats, death and EYES), Chinese and finally the Babylonians.
The "Tree of Knowledge", as it is called also in the Genesis book, and obviously because it's the common trunk from which any other, more specific science grow, and causes self-awaress when its fruit is eaten, was locked by the last king of Babylon so that it would remain untouchable...
...until someone worthy enough to open the lock or break the chains would come. And that individual... as we know now... is one of us...

I don't think its really any of your business to judge other based on what they believe in.
On the other hand, I don't necessarily live on Horoscopes. I really just find them an entertainment value.

Hahaha that cracked me up... my parents would totally agree with you though... I'm agnostic so yeah, I don't know...
The Wise Men who brought gifts to Jesus were astrologers (according to the original Hebrew text)... that's how they found him in the first place... and yet God supposedly spoke to them in a dream didn't he? Why would he do that if they were a bunch of evil charlatans? Why would he let them get anywhere near Jesus?
Ehh it just seems odd.
