considering the Aramco is subsidized by the Saudi gov. and the way they treat females, felons, etc

Political relationships are anything but simple. If we made every decision by who we liked or agreed with, we'd be completely alone (I'm sure some really want that, but they usually also want us to fail).

The Saudis are a powerful ally in a dangerous region of the world for the West. Why would we give that up?

Like a brother into the wrong crowd, it's better if we keep contact and guide them to freedom than cut them loose and hope they make it.

I'm sure they feel the same about us.
