Why are there few white men married to black women? I see more black men and white women.

Are white men afraid to be in relationships with Black women, or if the stigma of slave and master a large part of the few numbers.

As a side note, I am a black woman married to a white male. I'm offered interested in the way treat us when we go out. It mainly depends on the soci-economic areas that we are in. I have never been in a an all black enviroment that was welcoming, while on the other hand, I have never had a nasty thing said to me by whites. This is not to classify or group any persons together.

I don't really know the answer to this question. I have dated many white guys in my day and we received looks, snickers, comments and insutls (but never violence as the one poster described. it's not always that way).
Any-who. I don't have any problem with master/slave thing. It's not really something I think about. Love is love. It transcends historical stigmas as well as negativity from the peanut gallery.
When it comes to marriage, I would marry the man who loves me and treats me well regardless of his color.

Quite the opposite. Black men violently (and black women too) oppose black women dating white men. If you know a white male/black female couple ask them if they ever hear from white people about it and then prepare to listen to threats of violence from blacks about it. Racism is just about the opposite as to what blacks believe in the US. I have been around many black male/white female couples and have never seen them have any trouble. I saw a travel show once about a British guy who was filming in the US and was going to visit Harlem. He had a black girl guide (makes sense don't you think). They rode the bus to Harlem and when they got off to go see the sights, the white British guy was surrounded by blacks and beaten for being with a black girl. The girl was also assaulted for being with a white guy. Its a fact, saw it on British television. In the background of the film you can see a white girl with a black guy walking by, unmolested. Its is exactly what we are told happened in the American South years ago...but this was last year in a northern town and opposite race. Also saw this topic on Oprah which frequently has white women who are married to black men on. When it was reversed her usually sedate audience attacked the black girl (verbally) and shouted her down when she spoke. Racism is completely different now.

I tend to think this is caused by socio-economic and education issues! My former supervisor married a coworker who's black. I, personally haven't met very many black gals that I'd date, though I have dated a couple.Have a great day! ;-)=
