I am trying to remember why the unions failed so badly. as for a return they had better rethink their structures and policies, I cannot see Brown letting them have the upper hand.

Of course they are and could well suceed if a prime minister is not tough enough to insist that they respect the electoral process. They can advise 9and some of the advice will be good ) but they do not have any right to govern.

I wopuld go further toinsist that all MP's are independant and not party cyphers

Brown should not get involved, as he would then be accused of meddling in the democratic process.
