You're confusing the terms 'can' and 'should' here. The truth is can you? Yes as there's no law against doing so. But 'should' you? Only if you have the legs to pull it off.
I weigh 301 pounds and stand 5'10". My legs, butt and arms are all toned but my belly is where my weight is. I can wear tank tops and shorts but usually don't (because I don't like my belly being prominent.) Most people guess my weight around 250 pounds so I carry what I have well.
If you're self-conscious, don't. You'll save yourself a lot of headache. I don't always wear dark clothing either. I'm overweight but I refuse to hide it nor do I make any point of showing it off.
You have to feel good about yourself and your confidence should be high. That's the key to looking and feeling good about yourself. Also if the weather is hot, then go ahead and wear your shorts and tube top. Why suffer so others don't have to see you?

It's your decision, but if you are weight conscious then you could wear longer shorts and a short top but not necessarily a tube top. If you really want to lose weight then you should go for it this summer. Just find out where the weight is (thighs, tummy, hips, etc..) and that's how you target what type of excercises to do.
honestly I don't like it when most people go around wearing super short shorts and tight tight tube tops...it makes them look kind of skanky in my opinion.
hope that helps and best of luck!!

If you weigh 300 lbs. then I would say no to a tube top although I feel as though everyone all of ages and sizes has clothes that can make you feel good that compliments them without bearing way to much skin!!

No one has the right to tell you what you can and cannot wear according to your size. If you feel like wearing shorts then do it, I don't expect someone to get heat stroke just because they were too worried about what others thought and decided to wear a sweat suit to cover themselves. YOU wear what makes YOU comfortable. As far as tube tops? NO ONE should ever wear those hideous things, but still if you want to go ahead.

After some of the stuff I saw last weekend (Memorial Day in DC surrounded by tourists and aging biker chicks) nothing can shock me. Put some double-sided duct tape on that tube top and some vaseline on your inner thighs and go right ahead.

I think shorts are ok regardless of your weight, but I would not wear a tube top, or anything that shows the flesh around your shoulders or your stomach. It would just accentuate your size.

Wear what you want for gods sake. Nothing wrong with it. 90 degrees I wouldn't have even asked. Be comfortable. I personally wouldn't care.

If it makes you comfy why not? I see people do it all the time. I wouldn't just because I am modest , but I don't weigh 300lbs either. If you feel secure in your skin then do it. I know obese people get hot easily.
