I would try a external hard drive transfer. Keep your pictures on it and you will always have a back up of them in case something happens to your computer. That's what I do!!

I hope this helps!!

Well, one option is to write the pictures onto CDs, but this is only possible if you have a CD writer on your current computer. Also if you have a whole ton of pictures, you may need multiple CDs.
Or, if you have a USB flash drive or external hard drive (or you know someone who would let you borrow thiers), You can simply drag all of your photos onto that and plug it into your new laptop.
I hope that helps.

Easy or hard depends upon your skills and equipment.

If you already have a network, it is easy. Plug the new pc into the network along with the existing pc. Move all pictures and other files you want to move to the new pc to the share drive on the existing pc. Enable network sharing on the share drive of the existing pc using Windows Explorer (right click Start, click Explore, go to the Share Drive, click Sharing and follow the prompts to enable sharing on the network). Go to the new pc, open Windows Explorer, the go to My Network Places - Entire Network - Microsoft windows network and select the old pc, click on the + and you should see the share drive folder. copy this to your pc's c drive (copy and paste).

If you do not have a network it is a bit harder. I presume the old pc and the new pc have a network port (RJ 45 socket) Get a CAT5 cross cable. Go to My Network Connections, righ click My Network Connections, select Properties, then select TCP/IP and click on properties. Change the IP addresses as follows - on old pc - ip = 192.168.2.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, default gateway 102.168.2.2, do not worry about DNS; on new pc - ip - 192.168.2.3, subnet 255.255.255.0, default gateway 192.168.2.2, do not worry about DNS. Connect the cross cable to the two pcs. Follow the directions above about moving the pictures to the share drive of the old pc and enable network sharing on the old pc as discussed above. Then copy the folder as discussed above. You are done.

I'm sure your laptop has a cdwriter, so just write your things to a disk, that way you also have a hard copy backup of your stuff. Then you just copy it aff the disk onto your new laptop. Alternatively, get an external hard drive and use that. Hope this helps!

Easy. Purchase a router, connect the two computers to the router. Set up a "Home or Small Business" network and you can transfer anything you want between the two machines.

If both computers have Network connectors then just buy a CAT5 crossover network cable, run the networking wizard and you can simply send the pictures from one machine to the other.

As hard as drinking a glass of water!!!!
Buy a USB flash drive (so cheap now) and transfer them with it.
